Heen - Howl's Moving Castle / Anne Geraghty, Cakes Glorious Cakes

I'm Anne Geraghty from Cakes Glorious Cakes.  I was delighted again to have been asked to take part in another Irish Cake Collaboration.

When Studio Ghibli was mentioned, to be honest I'd never heard of them, but I soon got googling and found a few characters I liked. But, I kept coming back to 'Heen'.

So, here he is and he's all edible!  Thank you, Anne

The Castle - Howl's Moving Castle / Maria Bowen / Busy Bee Cakes

I started making cakes from my home in Tipperary two years ago and have loved every minute.  I was delighted to be invited to be part of this collaboration because we are big Studio Ghibli fans in our family.
I chose to make Howl's Moving Castle because it is one of my children's favoufite films and I relished the challenge.  I hope you like my interpretation

Lettie - Howl's Moving Castle / Sandra Stokes McCullough, Little Lady Cakes

My favourite pieces to model are faces, especially their expressions, and to create them as closely as possible to reality.
I chose this piece for the Studio Ghibli competition as I loved the style of clothes from the Victorian era and this was reminiscent of that for me.

Howl Bird - Howl's Moving Castle / Shan Skye Ross

I chose this piece because it is a classic example of how love is blind - and it conquers all. I also think that the plot shows how easy it is to fall prey to the propaganda of war, and how finding yourself in chaos is much more rewarding than doing what you're told just because it's expected of you - Sophie shows us that in so many ways, through friendship, love and determination throughout Howl's moving castle
